MOMBASA, Kenya-Dec 25, 2025- The Director of Criminal Investigations (D.C.I), Mr. Mohamed Amin, conducted a comprehensive security assessment in Kwale County today, as the country gears up for the festive season—a period often marked by increased movement and heightened social and economic activities.
Amin began his visit at the Diani Police Station before proceeding to several beaches in Diani, areas considered strategic during the festive period due to their vibrant tourism and recreational activities.
The assessment aimed to evaluate the prevailing security situation, operational preparedness, and the effectiveness of service delivery by officers on the ground, ensuring the safety of residents and visitors alike.
Upon arrival, Amin was received by Coast Regional Police Commander Ali Nuno, Regional Criminal Investigations Officer Daniel Kandie, and other senior police officials.
During the visit, the DCI engaged with members of the public to listen to their security concerns, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in enhancing effective policing and building public trust.
In a demonstration of accountability and respect for human rights, the DCI also inspected holding cells and interacted with suspects involved in various criminal cases within Diani, reinforcing the National Police Service’s commitment to professionalism in investigative and custodial processes.
The security assessment highlights the NPS’s resolve to safeguard lives and property, enhance service delivery, and ensure a peaceful, safe, and secure environment for all as Kenyans celebrate across the country.
